Big Six Films.

We undertook some research within our lesson to analyse what films the Big Six produced over the past year in comparison to the movies that were released by Mini Majors, such as Lionsgate. I found a variety of films that were produced by the Big Six, with Paramount having the least popular films.

An independent film company are companies that produce their own films. These are films which are produced outside of a major film studio, in addition to being produced and distributed by independent entertainment agencies. There are a variety of independent companies such as Gilbert Films, Red Crown Productions, EFO films, BCDF pictures, Annapurna pictures and Pulse Films. One independent film that is produced by Pulse Films was American Honey, which was also produced by British Film Institute Film4, Productions Man Down Pictures, Maven Pictures Parts & Laboratory. American Honey is a 2016 British-American drama road film written and directed by the British filmmaker Andrea Arnold. Other films that were produced by Trophy, The Witch, The Gun, Arcade Fire and Birth. Other films that were produced by this company were celebrities life movies, such as Katy Perry's 'part of me' and  Backstreet Boys' 'Show 'em what you're made of'.

Gender Analysis: Luther

As a start too our course, we have began to analyse a clip from Luther. Season 1, episode 3. The representation that we was asked to analyse was Gender.
Mise En Scene (CLAMPS)
Actors-

Within this clip of Luther the actors are highlighted significantly in various ways, one of them being Gender. For example Idris Elba is the dominating figure and this is instantly shown throughout the title sequence, as his figure is outlined and shown repeatedly. There is a dominance of male actors within the opening of the TV drama, for example, the first actor shown is portrayed as a powerful man for positive reasons, however, this is later turned too a negative image for this actor as he carries out acts that make the vulnerable woman feel fearful.
